Abstract

Misogyny still permeates in the present in which people would still objectifying women or simply oppress them to only stick to their traditional gender role of nurture. The writer thought that this kind of situation should be known widely or at the very least as far this study could reach This study aims to find the misogynistic act and behavior happening within the novel The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. In order to reach the goal of this study, the writer had stated these statements of problems. First one would be finding types of misogyny embedded in the novel. Second one would be seeking the reaction of characters involved within the act of misogyny whether they are directly involved or not. Literacy analysis is used for the research method along with Mimetic approach for the analytical technique. The research was carried out by analyzing the act of misogyny done by the characters appeared in the Novel The Good Earth. The writer would deduct the act of misogyny taken from the dialogue or text from and organize them based on their type of misogyny.(need 2 more sentences for findings) From this research, the writer hoped that this study would bring more attention to how destructive on having misogynistic perspective in the present. Knowing this, would give more people awareness and acknowledgement of the very pattern of misogyny itself thus benefiting people to learn to become a better person.
