Abstract

Oligofructose is the component of foods that can bas beneficial effects. Oligofructose is naturally found in a varieLy of edible plants and bas been commercially produce as food ingredient. They are resistant to digestion by manunalian a-amylase. sucrase, and maltaSC. but can be utilized by select microorganisms in the colon. Daily intakes of oligofructose are bet,veen l - 11 g/d depend on usage and intestinal acceptability. Host intestinal acceptability are different, so there are many digestive symptoms such as f!arulence, diarrhea. nausea, or abdominal pain tliat become Ii mired of daily intakes.
