Abstract

Setiap perusahaan di bentuk dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan keuntungan. Namun, tidak selalu perusahaan mempunyai kondisi keuangan yang baik atau dapat dikatakan perusahaan tersebut berada dalam kondisi financial distress dan untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut, perusahaan perlu melakukan tindakan perbaikan supaya tidak mengalami kebangkrutan dan dapat terlepas dari kondisi financial distress. Tindakan perbaikan tersebut yaitu dengan menerapkan strategi corporate turnaround. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang turut menentukan keberhasilan strategi corporate turnaround seperti asset retrenchment, expense retrenchment dan busy CEO. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dari asset retrenchment, expense retrenchment dan busy CEO terhadap keberhasilan strategi corporate turnaround. Variabel kontrol dalam penelitian ini adalah growth opportunity dan ukuran perusahaan. Model Altman Z-score digunakan untuk menentukan status perusahaan yang sukses ataupun gagal dalam melakukan strategi corporate turnaround. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah perusahaan sektor manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2015-2020. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pemilihan sampel adalah purposive sampling dan teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan regresi logistik berganda untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa expense retrenchment dan busy CEO berpengaruh positif terhadap keberhasilan strategi corporate turnaround. Hal ini berarti perusahaan yang melakukan expense retrenchment dengan proporsi yang lebih besar dan perusahaan yang dipimpin oleh CEO yang sibuk akan lebih berhasil dalam melakukan strategi corporate turnaround. Sedangkan asset retrenchment tidak berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan strategi corporate turnaround.
